How We Manage Quality

Certifications Held by Our Manufacturing Facilities

Turkish furniture facilities supplying through TurkFurnish hold the following certifications across product categories. Certification scope is confirmed at quotation stage based on product type and buyer requirements.

FSC — Forest Stewardship Council — chain-of-custody certification confirms that wood-based materials including solid wood, MDF, and plywood are sourced from responsibly managed forests. E1 and E0 compliance under EN 717-1 confirms that formaldehyde emissions from wood-based panels meet the lowest permissible levels, ensuring safe indoor air quality for hospitality, healthcare, and office environments. BIFMA certification under EN 1335 covers ergonomic and structural performance for office seating and desking systems. ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 cover quality management and environmental responsibility across production and assembly operations.

Fire Retardancy and Safety Testing

Upholstered furniture supplied through TurkFurnish for hospitality and contract applications is tested to fire retardancy standards required by the destination market. For UK and European hospitality buyers, Crib 5 and NFPA 260 fire retardancy certification applies to fabric, foam, and filling materials used in upholstered pieces.

Martindale abrasion resistance testing is carried out on all upholstery fabrics with results confirmed against the specification required for the application — typically above 50,000 rubs for high-frequency commercial environments. Fabric and foam test certificates are included in the shipment documentation package for hospitality and contract orders.

Material and Structural Testing

Case goods supplied through TurkFurnish are tested for structural integrity, surface durability, and hardware performance. High-pressure laminate and UV-cured lacquer surfaces are tested for scratch resistance, moisture resistance, and colour fastness. Joinery and hardware meet ISO 9001:2015 durability standards for commercial environments. Moisture-resistant MDF is used in production lines for bathroom furniture and wet-area applications in hospitality projects.

For bespoke custom production based on hotel blueprints or designer specifications, material and finish samples are submitted for buyer approval before full production begins.

Three-Stage Inspection Process

Every production run supplied through TurkFurnish passes through three inspection stages before shipment.

The first stage covers incoming material verification — confirming that board, veneer, fabric, foam, and hardware materials meet the agreed specification. The second stage covers in-process quality checks at critical production points including joinery, surface finishing, upholstery, and hardware fitting. The third stage is a pre-shipment inspection covering finished dimensions, surface condition, packaging integrity, and quantity verification against the purchase order. Third-party pre-shipment inspection by an independent inspection body is available on buyer request.

Sustainability and ESG Documentation

TurkFurnish provides sustainability documentation for buyers with ESG procurement requirements and green building certification programs. FSC chain-of-custody certificates confirm responsible wood sourcing. E1 and E0 emission records confirm low formaldehyde content in wood-based panels. ISO 14001 environmental management records are available from facilities holding this certification.

For hospitality buyers contributing to LEED, BREEAM, or equivalent green building certifications, material documentation packages can be prepared to support the certification submission.
